  • Alien Mulyk

    Policy Advisor EMOTA (European eCommerce & Omni-Channel Trade Association), Belgium

    Alien Mulyk works as a Policy Advisor at the European eCommerce and Omni-Channel Trade Association (EMOTA), which represents national eCommerce associations and corporate online traders in Brussels. She focuses on supply chain issues and other policy areas with an impact on online retailing such as taxation and data protection. Alien holds a tri-national master’s degree in European Studies and before joining EMOTA, she worked at the European Commission and the European Parliament.


  • John Munnelly

    Head of Operations, Magna Park Campus John Lewis & Partners, UK

    John Munnelly is Head of Operations at John Lewis Plc., one of the UK’s leading retailers. For the last 12 years, John has been responsible for the design, build and implementation of their highly-acclaimed, multi-award winning semi-automated National Distribution Centre in Magna Park, Milton Keynes.  The customer-centric facility has an operating footprint in excess of 2 million square feet, and is industry leading, enabling one pool of stock to be used for all shop deliveries and customer fulfillment.  This includes John Lewis’s online proposition, which will account for almost 50% of total sales by 2020.

  • Elisa Pogliano

    Digital & Omnichannel Director, Europe Mattel, UK

    Based in the UK, Elisa has been working at Mattel since 2015, first as eRetail and then as Omnichannel Development Director, developing a holistic approach to retail channel strategy and delivering scalable initiatives, plans and assets to support trade and shopper marketing activities across the region for well-known brands such as Barbie, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends and many more. In 2018 she also took over responsibility for Digital Marketing, including Digital Media & CRM.

    Before joining Mattel, Elisa spent 10 years working for Procter&Gamble in a number of Sales and Trade Marketing roles working across multiple categories including Home Care, Personal Care, Snacks and Pet Food. Her love affair with digital commerce began in 2007, when she started working as the Tesco.com Key Account Manager, and eventually led her to heading up the UK eRetail Team in 2013.

  • Abdullatef Almalouhi

    Senior Online Marketing Manager Rakuten, Germany

    Abdullateef works as a Senior Online Marketing Manager at Rakuten. He is responsible for online marketing as well as taking care of Rakuten Affiliate Mall’s growth strategy in the UK and Spain. Before Rakuten, he worked on expanding the online presence for brands like Watchmaster and Airbnb and helped brands like Boeing and NasJet improve their brand awareness in the Middle East.

    Ari Salonen, co-founder and ceo of Magic Add, has an extensive experience in the IoP world. Magic Add has been in the forefront of innovation in smart packaging, for example creating the term 'Internet of Packaging', and he has had a leading role in the industry for several years. Prior to Magic Add, Ari has an extensive experience in innovation, branding and design.

  • Arco Berkenbosch

    Vice President Innovation and Development Smurfit Kappa

    After successfully obtaining his PhD in applied mathematics, Arco Berkenbosch worked as a consultant for private packaging businesses, and advised international B2B and B2C companies on packaging strategies. He joined Smurfit Kappa as head of Research and Development in 2000. In 2011, Arco was appointed as Vice President of Marketing, Research and Development, while in 2015 he started the role of Vice President Innovation and Development.

    In this position, Arco has the overall responsibility for innovation and development for Smurfit Kappa Europe, which employs 46,000 professionals across 35 countries. Reporting directly to the CEO Europe Saverio Mayer, he is responsible for covering the main areas such as design, retail, e-commerce, supply chain, sustainability, mechanics and mechanisation. Arco is also a member of the board in Smurfit Kappa Europe.

    Arco is an experienced keynote speaker for international conferences for more than 20 years, giving inspiring speeches on the impact of trends such as e-commerce, changing consumer behaviour and increased sustainability awareness on packaging innovation and business strategy.

    Originally a materials scientist, Will has spent nearly 20 years developing innovative FMCG packs for brands as diverse as Ariel and Gucci perfume. Now leading the packaging development team for Britvic soft drinks he is particularly interested in new ways to engage the consumer in sustainable solutions’.

  • Roberta Fabretti

    eCommerce Marketing Lead Mondelēz International – Europe

    Roberta Fabretti leads the eCommerce marketing strategy and implementation for Mondelez Europe, in charge of driving growth by developing dedicated product assortment streams for eCommerce, new capabilities and ensuring best in class execution across European markets.She covers this role since January 2017.

    Roberta has over 17 years of digital and then eCommerce marketing experience in several industries, from Mondelez in the former coffee category to over the counter pharmaceuticals. She has developed a strong expertise in developing consumer centric marketing strategy with a focus on digital and ecommerce, having held leading marketing role in the booming year of Tassimo Direct to Consumer online business.”

    Allan has been working in management and IT consulting for the past 15 years.  At Pöyry Management Consulting Allan is focusing on supply chain management in packaging value chain where he has gained experience across continents and packaging products serving converters, primary material producers and brand owners. Having genuine interest in IT technology Allan has a passion to translate technological potential to the business benefits. Allan holds a M.Sc. from University of Helsinki. 

  • Stuart Heffernan

    Stuart Heffernan started his career in Ecommerce at Tesco.com in 2003 working with suppliers to understand how to measure, managing & maximise performance from the channel. Over past 15 years in FMCG ecommerce Stuart has experience of working with multiple manufacturers to develop the channel from a retailers perspective and at several digital media owners. Stuart made the move to supplier side in 2010 at Kerry foods and developed their 1st ecommerce & digital strategy with eretailers. In past 2 years Stuart has been working at Pernod Ricard, implementing a strategy to grow ecommerce at 2x the market growth, deliver new opps in channel and develop a best in class operation to deliver ambitious growth targets. The cost of deliver bottles direct or with eretail partners is a real challenge that Pernod Ricard face in the near future and the business is actively looking for potential ways to solve this challenge to deliver more value for the eBusiness channel at Pernod Ricard

    Jonne believes in creating value through sustainability. He founded a sustainability consultancy Natural Interest Ltd. in 2006 and in 2012 co-founded reusable packaging startup focused on sustainability and simplicity. RePack is an award winning European startup based Helsinki, Finland.

    Yoav is a serial entrepreneur and a hi-tech business development professional with two decades of diverse international experience in building and accelerating disruptive start-up businesses from conceptual stage to profitability.

    His focus is on consumer electronics, AI, computer vision and machine learning,. He co-founded of Beyond Verbal (emotions and mHelath analytics using the tone of human voice) and Superb Reality (Virtual and Augmented Reality computer vision solutions).

  • Angela Hultberg

    Global Head of Sustainable Mobility IKEA Group (INGKA Holding B.V.), Sweden

    Angela Hultberg is the global Head of Sustainable Mobility at IKEA Group (INGKA Holding B.V.)

    She is leading the IKEA Group efforts in relation to the sustainable mobility agenda, reducing customer and co-worker travel emissions as well as achieving zero emission home deliveries and services.

    Previously, Angela was leading the sustainability work within Customer Fulfilment, focusing on creating a truly sustainable multichannel network for IKEA Group. This included lowering emissions, working with circular initiatives and waste reduction, supply chain management and much more.

    Angela holds a masters of law degree from Lund University and has worked for PwC and Scania before joining IKEA Group.


  • Sukky Jassi

    Research and Operations Manager The Retail Institute, Leeds Beckett University, UK

    Sukky is a dynamic research professional based in academia. She has held many roles including Head of the Retail Institute which involved managing the institute from a strategic and operational perspective, delivering the longstanding Membership scheme and handling a portfolio of research projects commissioned by commercial clients from the Retail, Food and Packaging industries.

    More recently, Sukky widened her remit and is now Research and Operations Manager for the Business School at Leeds Beckett University and remains affiliated to the Retail Institute as an Associate continuing to work on special projects and further her research interests. Sukky is a researcher by background and has over 17 years’ experience of delivering qualitative and quantitative applied research and consultancy projects in both the public and private sector – the outcome of which ultimately drives decision making, problem solving, policy making and the improvement of services.  Her experience and collaborative approach helps clients identify where there is a need for research and subsequently shape and develop new projects that drive growth.

    Sukky is also in the early part of her journey to undertaking a PhD which seeks to understand consumer acceptance towards smart and intelligent packaging.

  • Brent Lindberg

    Founder and Principal Fuseneo, USA

    Brent Lindberg is annoying, and he knows it. It’s more than just the corny jokes and odd quirks. With a curiosity that rivals George, Brent has the habit of relentlessly asking questions like a 5-year-old. He also has an obnoxious appetite for the unexpected (as anyone who’s seen his wardrobe can tell you). 

    Together these traits produce an unorthodox approach to structural packaging design which has built a culture at Fuseneo, the creative studio he started. And somehow, it seems to be working. Their incessant inquisition and boundary-pushing has been reshaping packaging experiences across retail and e-commerce for more than a decade.  

  • Virginie Maes

    Vice President Ecommerce and Business Development Amcor

    Ms. Maes joined global packaging leader, Amcor, in November 2016. Previously, she held a number of senior strategy roles including with leading international management-consulting firm, McKinsey and Company.

    Today, as Amcor’s Vice President, Ecommerce and Business Development, Ms. Maes identifies strategic opportunities for the company; assessing acquisitions and developing growth strategies for the business, worldwide. This includes leading Amcor’s expanding ecommerce offering.

    Prior to Amcor, Ms. Maes ran transformations, restructures, and merger integrations for several global clients of McKinsey in the chemical, agricultural and insurance sectors. 

    She was previously a private equity associate at Terra Firma Capital Partners and a financial analyst in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

    Ms. Maes has a Masters, Business Administration, from Harvard Business School, a Masters, Financial Management, and a Masters, Applied Economics.

A technologist, serial-entrepreneur, and angel investor, Niall has 25 years experience in innovation and future-thinking. He has founded and built pioneering businesses in internet infrastructure, the mobile internet and Web services. Niall is a frequent speaker at venues around the world, including TED.

  • Santiago Navarro

    CEO & Co-Founder Garçon Wines, UK

    Santiago Navarro is a serial entrepreneur. His first start-up in 2011, Vinopic Wines, was an online retailer which was the first to use science to judge and score wines for their intrinsic quality. Following this, he went on to co-found Nightly.travel, the world's only hotel booking site to split a traveller’s stay across two hotels to enable them to save as much as 70%. Santiago’s now focused on Garçon Wines, as CEO and co-founder, revolutionising the 35 billion bottles used annually in wine and making flat bottles as commonplace as round bottles in both wine and spirits.

  • Andrea Questa

    E-Commerce Manager Channel EMEA Sealed Air, Italy

    Andrea joined Sealed Air Food Care in 2011 as Sales Specialist Ready Meals Italy. In 2012, he was appointed Retail Manager Italy. He brings a solid experience in developing deep relationships with the key players in the most important retailers that hasand thanks to the know-how gained by collaborating with retailers and his consumer centric approach allowed Sealed Air to develop profitable business, set trends in the market and introduce packaging innovations.

    In 2018 has been appointed E-Commerce Manager EMEA, in the Marketing EMEA Food Care team.. This new position allows Sealed Air Food Care to focus inon the rapidly growing Grocery E-commerce business and execute the strategy in creating profitable growth with highly differentiated innovations and disruptive technologies.

    Prior to Sealed Air he gained significant experience in the sales business, especially importing beef meat from South America and commercializing it at main retailers. Furthermore he worked at Salumificio F.lli Beretta (one of the biggest European processed meat companies), where he had the responsibility of strategic projects like the development of ready meals market and strategic joint ventures with European groups in the food industry. Thanks to these 15 years cooperation, he developed a solid background of strategic marketing.

    Claudia Rivinius is as Marketing Director responsible for the national and international marketing of the STI Group. Claudia has supervised numerous studies on the sales effect of packaging and displays and is in demand as an author and speaker.

    With the title “Move people to buy more” she designed the first international display book. Together with her team, with ROI Light™ she has developed a market research tool that enables the comparison of different packaging and display variants at an early design stage.

    Frank has been working in shopper marketing for well-known FMCG brands since 2004. In 2010, with IMPLIZIT, he started to focus more on the newest insights from neuro-science to increase the probability of the purchase act. In this field, perceptual psychology plays an important role, as more than 95% of information processing – especially when shopping – is done subconsciously. The easier we make it for the shopper to process information and make a purchase decision, the more likely he is to complete the purchase act. There are many different ways to activate the senses (not only sight) – especially when it comes to packaging.

    Soria is developing the Right Size Packaging (RSP) business for the E-Commerce market at DS Smith. In an industry where boxes contain 55 % air on average, RSP is a clear opportunity to reduce operational costs, increase customer experience and reduce CO2 footprint. A clear example of how Innovative solutions can address E-Commerce challenges. Santiago has more than 18 years of experience in the packaging business within multinational companies – in the areas design, FMCG key accounts, sales management, Retail and now e-Retailers; combining innovation with sales development.

  • Julia Spielvogel

    Partner McKinsey & Company, Austria

    Julia Spielvogel is a Partner in McKinsey’s Vienna office and affiliated to our Consumer and Retail Practice. She serves grocery and non-food retailers in Europe, North America and Asia and focusses on digital and omnichannel transformations.

    Julia has supported retail clients in every phase of the digital transformation - from strategy definition to commercial and operational implementation. She also co-leads McKinsey’s European Omnichannel in Retail Serviceline.

    He is responsible for Packaging Management at Zalando SE, Berlin and is responsible as Business Lead Buyer for the procurement of consumables and packaging as well as project manager for the development of future packaging strategies. After completing his Master of Engineering in Packaging Technology / Packaging Technology at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences, Berlin, Uwe Streiber worked as a packaging and process engineer at MSP GmbH, Cologne and at the DeutscheMTM Association eV, Hamburg Zalando SE started.

  • Jürgen Strohhäcker

    Head of Marketing ASB Greenworld Ltd., Germany & US

    Since 1987 employed at ASB Grünland, starting as an advertising assistant, later on advertising manager and meanwhile Head of Marketing for the whole group. We are producing garden care products (fertilizer, potting soil) for any retail stores who are dealing with that kind of products – specialist for private labels. ASB Grünland or international ASB Greenworld (brand name) has five production plants in Germany, two in Canada and one in Estonia and the Czech Republic - in addition sales offices in Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and the USA. The percentage of my daily work in packaging will be approx. 75 %.

    Education and career development:  Born 1957 in Germany / After school examination and military apprenticeship as a silk-screen printer / Department Manager Prepress in a company for promotional products, decorative articles, posters, banners etc. / Studies of Marketing Communications at the “Hochschule der Medien HdM” in Stuttgart / First professional experience after finishing the studies in advertising agencies and specialist printing houses

  • David van der Lei

    Global E-commerce Lead / International Trade Marketing Director Perfetti Van Melle Group, The Netherlands

    David has been fascinated by marketing since his childhood. The first 10 years of his working life, he spend in management consulting, focusing on fixing strategic and growth challenges for CPG companies in US and Europe. In 2005 he joined Perfetti Van Melle and took care of various candy brands in Benelux, focusing on innovation and impactful communications. Besides strong brand growth, the work was recognized with a Golden Effie and a British Design Effectiveness award. From 2010 to 2015 he was responsible for Marketing and Trade Marketing teams in Perfetti Van Melle Vietnam – achieving 5 years of consecutive double-digit growth for the brands in this emerging South East Asian country. Since 2015 he is Perfetti’s Global Ecommerce Lead, supporting operating companies around the globe to quickly develop e-commerce skills and achieve above fair share in this emerging new eco-system.

    Richard leads the regional design team within Mars Wrigley Confectionary, shaping the design and innovation agenda to ensure that the innovation pipeline is fuelled with customer-centric solutions that meet our global brands’ strategies and individual market requirements, across our portfolio of chocolate, gum and fruity confections.

  • Michael Weber

    Director Corporate Marketing Thimm the Highpack Group, Germany

    Michael Weber studied business administration in Stuttgart where he took his diploma degree in. After his studies he spent several years working within international IT and electronic companies like Hewlett-Packard within various marketing and sales positions, before he joined the THIMM Group. Michael Weber holds the position as Marketing Director currently. Within this function he is responsible branding, communications, trade fairs, market research and development as well as product management.

  • Luca Zerbini

    Vice President Sustainability, Marketing and Innovation Amcor Group GmbH, Switzerland

    He is the Vice President Marketing, R&D and Sustainability, Amcor Flexibles Europe, Middle East and Africa; effective 1st of July 2016. 

    He holds a BSc, MSc Industrial Engineering Polytechnic Milan MBA, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania 

     Luca A. Zerbini joined Amcor in September 2014 as VP Corporate Strategy and Business Development 
    Prior to this he was Strategic Marketing Director for Honeywell Transportation Systems, a global division supplying turbocharging technologies to the automotive industry.  
    Luca has also held a CEO position in the building materials industry and has served as a management consultant with Bain & Company.  He started his career in Supply Chain Management at Hewlett-Packard.
