The EOG team is implementing a system that reduces the quantities of plastics which end up with consumers, ensuring that materials are retained in the resource stream, and preventing plastic packaging from ending up in landfills, incinerators, or the natural environment. Scott will present the project as a case study for the value of pre-competitive cooperation in sustainability topics.

How does impulse purchasing work in the online shopping space, and what strategies can be adopted to create new purchasing opportunities?

Richard will present alongside Peter Booth, Principal Director of Tin Horse Design. Through a series of case studies, they will take a closer look at how gifting and personalisation is creating new ways for businesses to attract consumers and engage them with our brands. They will also explore the role of impulse and demonstrate strategies that create new purchasing opportunities.

 As part of her role, Ulrika is responsible for H&M's Circular Packaging Strategy, including the goalsetting process. She is also representing H&M in the working group led by The Ellen MacArthur Foundation related to their initiative, 'The New Plastic Economy'. She has recently worked on the start-up of one of the groups brands, ARKET, where she was situated on the expansion and store concept team.

Senior Research Analyst at Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Leela's presentation will explore the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's New Plastic Economy Initiative and core principles for a circular economy. Why do we need to move beyond recycling efforts and turn to upstream innovation?

It will outline the Foundation's targeted effort on elimination, reuse and material selection, including the benefits, challenges, and best practice case examples.

In his role, Michel is shaping the overall innovation agenda at DHL through developing industry trend reports and identifying, piloting and commercialising state-of-the art technology solutions for the logistics industry and its customers. Within the Trend Research team, Michel’s work focuses on future application areas of drone technologies within logistics operations and the introduction of upcoming packaging innovations to the business.
