Pre-Conference Workshop: E-PACK US 2019

"The Mind of the Consumer is the Road Map to E-commerce Packaging Success"

Taking place on the afternoon of Monday - October 28, 2019 (1:30 PM- 4:00 PM)

In this year's pre-conference workshop, we will conduct a live consumer focus group on stage looking at consumer perceptions of e-commerce packaging. This focus group will feature real life consumers recruited from the local metropolitan area (Seattle–Tacoma–Bellevue, WA)  and will span a wide array of demographics - gender, occupation, annual income, marital status, number of children, etc.

As part of the experience, the group of people will be asked to purchase products from 3-4 different e-commerce websites, saving the packaging to bring with them to the workshop for further discussion. 

*Selected participants will not be currently or previously employed in the packaging industry.

*Consumer participants will be selected by a consumer market research company that we have partnered with for this event.

  • Jonathan Quinn

    Market Development Manager Nova Chemicals

    Jonathan Quinn is the market development manager for NOVA Chemicals' polyethylene business, where he focuses on understanding trends, the mind of the consumer, and discovering unmet needs in the consumer packaged goods industry in order to drive innovation. He has conducted extensive research on the eCommerce sector, specifically food e-commerce. Jonathan is viewed as a subject matter expert in the area of e-commerce along with Food & Beverage packaging. Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals in early 2016, Jonathan held sales leadership and business development roles at Illinois Tool Works Zip-Pak division, the COESIA Group, and Multisorb Technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science and Business Management from Clemson University. Currently Jonathan chairs the e-commerce committee at AMERIPEN and is on the board of directors for the Society of Plastics Engineers flexible packaging division. Jonathan was awarded the 2018 rising star under 35 by Plastics News. In the spring of 2019 Jonathan was appointed to the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) Global Board of Directors.
